What we do
Four things, and not much else
We work out which destinations are realistic for your grades, your funding and your timeline. We prepare and submit applications. We build the visa file and check every document against the others before anything is sent. And we teach the language your route requires.
That is the whole service. We are deliberately narrow, because the parts of this that go wrong go wrong in the detail, and detail does not survive being spread thin.
Where we draw the line
What we will not do
Most consultancies publish their values. Values are easy to claim, so here are commitments instead — things you can hold us to, and things you should expect any firm to state plainly.
We do not guarantee visas
Nobody can. Visa decisions belong to embassies and immigration authorities, and admissions decisions belong to universities. Anyone promising an outcome is either misunderstanding their role or planning to submit something untrue. Ours is to make your case as strong and as consistent as the facts allow.
We will tell you when a route is not realistic
Sometimes the honest answer is that your budget points somewhere else, that your qualification needs an extra year first, or that the route you were shown closed months ago. We would rather lose the engagement than take a fee for an application we expect to fail.
We do not touch documents that are not genuine
No altered transcripts, no reference letters describing work you did not do, no funds presented as something they are not. Misrepresentation carries multi-year bans in every country we work with, and it is permanent on your record. If you ask us to do this, we will end the engagement.
We do not write your personal statement for you
Universities require it to be your own work, and at a visa interview you may be asked about it. We ask the questions that surface the material, tell you what is working, and say so when something reads as invented.
We are not paid by institutions
Our fee comes from you and only from you. That is what allows us to say a university is wrong for you, or that a cheaper destination suits you better. Ask any consultancy this question before you engage them.

How we work
You can see your own file
Every client gets a portal. It lists the documents your application needs, with a note on what qualifies for each. You upload them there rather than emailing them around. Your advisor marks each one accepted or sends it back with a reason, and you can see which stage your application has reached without having to ask.
It exists because the most common complaint about this industry is silence — people paying a fee and then not knowing what is happening for weeks at a time.
Who we are
Small, and recently founded
Merit Pathway is a three-person team based in Paris, with representatives in Ghana and Germany. We are small by design: one advisor stays with you from the first conversation to your arrival, instead of a file being handed between departments.
We are a young firm. We would rather say that than imply a scale we do not have, because the thing you are really asking is whether the people handling your passport know what they are doing. The answer to that is in how we work and what we publish — our cost figures carry the date they were checked, and our guides say when a route has closed rather than leaving you to find out.
